I’ve been using cards for a very long time. I am so used to cards that sometimes I realise that I don’t have any cash in my wallet. Once I drew into a car park and, when I had to pay, I realised that I didn't have a single lats in my wallet. I didn't know what to do if the car park accepted only cash. Luckily, cards were accepted at the car park. Actually, I’ve to say that I wish there were more places that accepted cards.
Another advantage of cards, which I estimate very highly when I go to tournaments in Russia or other CIS countries, is the possibility to keep in secret how much money I have with me. Usually, when crossing a border, they ask how much cash is taken into the country. Whereas nobody can ask how much money I’ve on card.
In few words, cards solve many problems. Just like the notorious company Auseklītis.
